Accessibility statement

Last updated:

At Herrikonekt we want everyone to be able to use the app, regardless of their own abilities or those of the device they use. This statement explains which accessibility features the Herrikonekt app supports, how to turn them on, and how to tell us if you run into a barrier.

1. Scope of this statement

This statement applies to the Herrikonekt app for iPhone and Android, in the versions published on the App Store and Google Play, and to this website.

We review it every time we publish a new version of the app. The date of the last review is shown at the top of this page.

2. Features the app supports

  • VoiceOver: Yes. Buttons, links, form fields and interactive elements have an accessible name and role, states are announced to the screen reader, and every screen can be navigated from start to finish.
  • Voice Control: Yes. The main actions (search, sign up, post to the forum, send a message, open a shop listing) can be triggered with Voice Control on iOS by saying the visible name of the button.
  • Larger Text: Yes. The app follows the system text size setting, up to the largest sizes, and never blocks text scaling.
  • Differentiate Without Color: Yes. States (favourite, selected, open or closed) are conveyed with an icon, shape or text in addition to color.
  • Sufficient Contrast: Yes. Text and controls in the app meet the WCAG 2.2 AA contrast levels.
  • Reduce Motion: Yes. When Reduce Motion is on, the app disables the candle, weather and favourite button animations, the swipe between tabs and the remaining transitions.

3. Features we do not support yet

We prefer to be explicit about what does not work yet. These iOS features are not supported in the app today:

  • Dark Interface: No. The app uses a fixed light theme, regardless of your device setting. We are working on a dark theme.
  • Subtitles: No. The app contains no pre-recorded video. The only audio content is private voice notes exchanged between users, which cannot be subtitled.
  • Audio Descriptions: No. There are no audio or video tracks with a description. Maps in the app are shown as a visual representation of their points of interest.

4. How to turn these features on in your device

  • VoiceOver: iOS, Settings > Accessibility > VoiceOver. Android, Settings > Accessibility > TalkBack or Switch Access.
  • Voice Control: iOS, Settings > Accessibility > Voice Control. macOS, System Settings > Accessibility > Voice Control.
  • Larger Text: iOS, Settings > Accessibility > Display & Text Size > Larger Text. Android, Settings > Display > Font size and screen display.
  • Reduce Motion: iOS, Settings > Accessibility > Motion > Reduce Motion. Android, Settings > Accessibility > Remove animations.
  • Increase Contrast: iOS, Settings > Accessibility > Display > Increase Contrast.

5. Accessibility on this website

  • Keyboard navigation: every link and button can be reached with the Tab key and activated with Return or Space.
  • Contrast: the text on this site meets the WCAG 2.2 AA contrast levels.
  • Reduced motion: if your system has the reduce motion option enabled, the animations on this site stop and the content is shown straight away.

6. Your feedback and how to report a barrier
